Chapter 8

“How much money did you make from the club tonight?” Derrick asked.

“Fifteen hundred,” Chelsea said proudly.

“Ok, give me five hundred and you keep the rest,” Derrick said as he scrolled through his phone.

Chelsea peeled off five one hundred dollar bills and handed them to Derrick. Business was going great, and Chelsea had no complaints, considering Derrick let her keep most of the profits.

“I know you tired. Go get some sleep,” he told her.

“I figured we’d watch a movie and spend a little time together, since I’ve been working since I got here” Chelsea explained.

“I gotta get up early tomorrow, and so do you, so that’s why I said get some sleep,” Derrick said without looking up.

Chelsea stood there for a brief moment before turning around and walking upstairs. She went into the bedroom that she and Derrick shared and took off her clothes. After putting on her robe, she got into bed. It had been a long night, and as she sank deeper into the silk sheets, she realized how tired she really was.
